US Foods, a leader in the foodservice distribution industry, is seeking a dynamic Category Manager-COP to oversee our Center of the Plate product categories. This role is pivotal in driving category performance through strategic planning, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Category Manager will be responsible for the profitable growth of the meat, poultry, and seafood categories, ensuring the alignment of these strategies with overall company objectives. By leveraging market data and industry trends, the successful candidate will develop and implement category plans that enhance product assortment, optimize pricing strategies, and improve supply chain efficiencies. Develop, implement, and monitor category strategies to hit or exceed financial targets and customer satisfaction scores. Build strong supplier partnerships and negotiate contracts to optimize cost and ensure supply continuity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure category success. Utilize market data and consumer insights to forecast trends and adapt strategies accordingly. Manage the product lifecycle from sourcing to discontinuation, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Present category insights and strategies to senior management for strategic decision-making. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills Effective negotiation and supplier management skills Excellent communication and presentation abilities Proficient in data analysis tools and MS Office Understanding of the foodservice industry and product sourcing Medical Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certifications in Supply Chain Management, such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), are preferred.
