Job DescriptionJoin our Maintenance team to help complete
projects in preparation for the next school year! The Maintenance
Technician is responsible for facility repair and maintenance at
multiple Head Start classrooms, facilities, and in the central
office. The Maintenance Technician performs preventative
maintenance on building air and heat systems, facilitates moving
equipment, and installs materials and equipment. The Maintenance
Technician will work under the supervision of the Maintenance
Supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below
are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience in
commercial and/or residential facility maintenance. Must have basic
proficiencies in areas including but not limited to; plumbing,
carpentry, electrical, painting, HVAC; or an equivalent combination
of education and experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficient in the use of computers and related information
technologies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic maintenance and construction
trade procedures.
- Working in a safe manner at all times without direct
supervision.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on
the job with satisfactory drive record for the past 3 years.
- Registration with the Office of Child Care's Central Background
Registry**.
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
- This position is subject to MWVCAA's Mandatory COVID-19
Vaccination Policy for client-facing positions.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; regularly
required to climb or balance; occasionally required to stand; walk;
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Manual dexterity for handling equipment.
- Regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color
vision, distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Indoor and outdoor work environment with frequent interruptions
and demands.
- Exposure to trash and potential biohazards.
- Occasional interaction with the public.
- Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other infectious
conditions. PPE, face coverings may be required.**Enrollment in the
