We are hiring (2) Operations and Policy Analyst 4 positions to join our Office of Education Innovation and Improvement in Salem, Oregon at the Oregon Department of Education. These are permanent, full-time positions in management service. What you will do: The primary aim of these positions is to support the development and execution of the System Supports, Intensive Coaching, Professional Learning, and Technical Assistance to school districts and eligible charters schools participating in the Student Investment Account of the Student Success Act. These positions will work with a team that will deploy significant contract dollars and coordinate cross-agency and cross-office supports to meet program expectations. Tasks can be varied according to the time of year and include: Develop and coordinate agency-wide activities designed to implement the Student Success Act and related investments and requirements: Facilitate the implementation of new programs related to the Student Investment Account. Design and facilitate workshop sessions to encourage innovation and design thinking related to implementation of student success programs. Advise ODE leadership, advance strategic planning priorities and support ODE staff to better understand problems to solve, define programmatic supports aligned to initiatives related to the Student Investment Account. Provide coaching and communication support, establish and participate in a system of site reviews. Assist in general oversight, development and implementation of System Capacity supports, coaching and technical assistance to Oregon school districts and eligible charter schools. Coordination and alignment of effective agency-wide initiatives designed to improve student outcomes: Develop systems for sustainable internal, cross-office, cross-division, cross-agency partnerships aimed at efficient and effective communication, inter-agency support for progress on strategic plan goals, and developing evidence-based support and interventions to all regions of the state. Represent the agency before boards and other agencies, state legislature or other stakeholder groups. Office and Agency strategic operations: Lead and facilitate agency strategic planning and execution with cross-office, collaborative teams. Collaborate with other ODE teams in the identification, sharing, and support of emerging and evidence-based practices to meet the needs of Oregon's students as it relates to the areas of program responsibility. Advocate for and implement agency and state diversity, equity and inclusion and affirmative action objectives, employee development and other human resource goals. Working Conditions: Typical office environment, open-wall configuration. Irregular work hours with occasional travel. Frequent exposure to deadline pressures. Frequently deals with high stress topics and crucial situations; must quickly understand complex situations; must exercise consistent good judgment; topics dealt with may be highly confidential in nature. Exercise well-reasoned professional judgment in decision making to move departmental and office work forward in astute ways. To qualify for these positions, you must a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or another degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; AND five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
