Overview:A premier supplier of specialty dried fruits to food manufacturers, domestic and international, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for overseeing the finances of the company, including historical reporting, budgeting & forecasting. The CFO must have the ability to communicate company objectives effectively and lead or assist in completing company initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and effective adviser to the President.Responsibilities include:Prepare and determine timing of payment for accounts payable, and approve customer credit terms, negotiate borrowing terms with bank.Prepare budgets and trend reports in order to provide management with information relevant to the company in order to make informed and educated business decisions.Review accounts receivable for accuracy, reasonableness and timely payment. Communicate concerns with brokerage staff as needed. Monitors unusual fluctuations in revenue/expense date, investigates, and reports to management.Monitor accounting and financial procedures throughout the company and provides recommendations and training for improvements to management. Monitor effectiveness of control procedures and reports back to upper management through reporting and recommendations.Oversee development/implementation of ERP, MPS, accounting, data repository systems. Develop dashboards and related reporting tools for upper management, including development and assessment of KPI's. Oversee annual and quarterly tax reports in accordance with applicable taxing/regulatory body. Prepare and review balance sheet and comparative income statements for accuracy and reasonableness. Provide financial reports to management monthly in a timely manner.Assist all departments in developing reporting tools to better support data management and decision-making.Ensure that all purchasing, logistics, scheduling, accounting, HR, inventory, and IT staff are on task and properly trained to complete their daily duties. Maintain a qualified, competent accounting staff providing discipline and reviews, as necessary.Answer questions and troubleshoot issues on a daily basis regarding customers, vendors, and employee transactions. Provides appropriate data and coordinates with outsourced consultants to prepare audits of financials. Review detailed general ledger and supporting documentation for accuracy and reasonableness, making adjustments and provide training as appropriate.Participate in key decisions with the leadership group by problem solving and bringing new ideas to support company initiatives. Responsible for ensuring that the company continuously works toward improving profitability and efficiencies, providing safeguards against theft of assets, & accurately reporting the assets, liabilities, revenues & expenses.Requirements include:Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting. CPA preferred.Seven or more year's relevant experience.Agricultural or manufacturing experience preferred.Experience developing, implementing, and overseeing accounting procedures and controls.Leadership and credibility. Capable of generating a high degree of respect and trust and building relationships across the organization, with ownership, and outside stakeholders.Experience developing strategy, monitoring results and mitigating business risks both financial and non-financial.Professional level written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals and to present information effectively and timely.Professional level Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word. ERP Experience, Great Plains experience a plus.Compensation:This position offers a competitive salary depending on experience and qualifications.
