This person will assist in the design of cross-agency policies, programs and initiatives that effectively coordinate the long-term rent assistance contracts that will provide rent assistance to within the private and affordable rental market.   • This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.WHAT YOU WILL DOThe person in this position will work under the direction of the Rent Assistance Program Lead, PA4, to assist in the design of cross-agency policies, programs and initiatives that effectively coordinate the long-term rent assistance contracts that will provide rent assistance to within the private and affordable rental market. Long term rent assistance is a vital resource to ensure that following placement into housing deep rent assistance along with supportive services continue. This position will assist in partnership development, helping to implement a program that aligns with existing long term rent assistance programs, researching best practices, relationship development with the identified network of providers, contract oversight and funding utilization monitoring.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years experience coordinating or administering a program-OR-Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classificationTo request a copy of the position description, please contact: WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (DESIRED ATTRIBUTES)The most competitive candidates will possess the following attributes, experience, and knowledge:
    • Must be knowledge of state and national issues related to homeless program development and implementation, an understanding and preferably experience in the operations of community based non-profit organizations.
    • Ability to interpret applicable statutes and regulations in response to questions and situations, advises management on program operations, reviews and approves/declines requests for funding related to homeless programs and makes final report determinations.
    • Ability to develop program policy and strategic direction, providing recommendations to the department based on information and data collected.
    • Oversee, disburse, and manage homeless funding for all subgrantees.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation experience.
