patients experience with the cost and coordination of cancer care
so that they can focus on physical and emotional wellbeing.We are
currently recruiting for a professional and compassionate *Payment
Posting Specialist* to join our Revenue Cycle team.*Position
Overview *The *Payment Posting Specialist *is key to department
success because s/he focuses on posting patient and insurance payer
payments that impact both the revenue cycle at Oregon Oncology
Specialists and our patients' ability to pay for care. The
incumbent is responsible for posting and conveying high volumes of
insurance, patient, and grant funding payments and adjustments that
are received via check, credit card, and EFT. The position's
objective is to maximize system efficiencies, reduce operational
costs, increase accuracy, and improve reimbursement
outcomes.*Essential Job Functions** Process and post insurance,
patient and grant payments that are received daily via ACH/EFT,
checks, cash, and credit cards, to include contracted and
non-contracted insurance carriers - in accordance with company
policies and procedures.* Reconcile pending checks, add checks,
discard checks, and view reconciled checks for the current ledger
date period.* Reconcile cash receipts and petty cash funds to
accounts receivable balance.* Reconcile payments to the explanation
of benefits (EOB) and electronic remittance advice (ERAs).* Post
all zero pay insurance denials and other electronic remits.*
Process and post virtual credit card payments received from
facilities and insurance companies via merchant terminal.* Retrieve
ERA for received payments from various websites.* Analyze data,
identify issues, reach conclusions, and propose strategies for the
resolution of complex reimbursement issues.* Utilize the electronic
record (EHR) health information systems, and healthcare
applications and have a good working knowledge of information
technology - including Excel and other platforms as required.*
Process balancing reports ensuring accurate posting.* Research and
update posting discrepancies as needed.* Meet monthly closing
deadlines.* Perform payment conveyances to maintain clean records
of payment for both internal and patient purposes.*Required
Qualifications: ** High School diploma or equivalent.* One year of
experience in payment posting or ability to demonstrate competency
within the first 30 days.* One year of experience with medical
insurance terminology or ability to demonstrate competency within
the first 30 days.* Knowledge of high-functioning EHR, billing
systems, and applications (iKnowMed, Lynx, Centricity, Epic, etc.)
or ability to demonstrate competency within the first 30 days.*
Extensive verbal and written skills; ability to convey technical
and accounting information clearly.* Ability to logically and
accurately analyze details.* Demonstrated research and resolution
related to denial management.* Demonstrated leadership skills.*
Communicate with multiple levels within internal and external
organizations with ease and effectiveness (e.g. physicians, APPs,
clinical, management, and support staff).* Excellent PC operating
skills and use of MS Office.*Preferred Qualifications: ** Basic
bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.* At least one year of
experience demonstrating accounting, posting, and billing success
in a medical practice setting.* Understanding of Unlimited Systems
Revenue Cycle software.* Spanish-speaking*Position Highlights**
