The Oregon Department of Education is excited to announce a permanent Executive Assistant (Executive Support Specialist 1) in our Early Learning Division. This position will play a critical role in the development of the Early Learning Division as its own state agency. This opportunity would be a good fit if you have a growth mindset and passion for developing your talents, while also being proactive and taking the initiative to support the success of agency and leadership needs.Position Duties & Responsibilities:As the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff, you will provide confidential executive-level administrative support to the Chief of Staff, and other members of the leadership team. You will manage day-to-day office operations, policies, procedures and programs, and work with additional support positions to provide general support to the Chief of Staff's Office in cross-office initiatives.What we are looking for:We are seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of clerical/secretarial experience which include one year at a full performance level performing typing, word processing, or other generating of documents; and lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.Courses or training in Office Occupations or Office Technology may be substituted for up to one year of the clerical/secretarial experience.Desired Attributes:---Proven ability to perform administrative support to managers.---Familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, website programs, and various virtual conferencing tools.---Strong commitment and willingness to learn, including taking opportunities to grow collaboratively and independently with learned experience, creating best practices, and building upon or developing strengths and skills necessary to succeed in this role.---Proven ability to take initiative, implement and support meetings, projects, tasks, or programs with little guidance or oversight.---Ability to research information, prepare written reports/materials, compile data/reports, and provide summaries of confidential information.---Experience with sticking to timelines, working under minimal supervision, working autonomously to complete tasks, being reliable with providing updates, and staying prioritized with competing deadlines.What's in it for you?When you join the Early Learning Division, you are joining a fast-paced, creative environment with colleagues who are passionate about public service and impact the lives of children and families statewide. ---Excellent medical, vision, and dental benefits package for the employee and qualified family members with a very low monthly out-of-pocket cost.
