Help Desk Specialist--- Salem, ORJob Summary: With a high degree of privacy, security, and professionalism, provide necessary technical services in a consistent and timely manner to both clients and vendors. Affirm and vigorously initiate personal engagement with Company's Core Values in relationships with other staff members, clients, and vendors. The purpose of this role is to provide Help Desk support remotely and onsite effectively and efficiently to our clients based on current standards and documentation resulting in highly satisfied clients.Summary of essential job functions: * Will work independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed company routines and standard practices* Cause/encourage positive team culture* Willingly assists in all types of client support as requested* Perform regular duties assisting client staff onsite with technical support and providing exceptional customer service, configure & troubleshoot PC hardware and understand hardware concepts* Install, configure & troubleshoot operating systems and applications* Perform routine computer and minor network tasks at client sites* Assist with client network systems maintenance and hardware installation as needed and requested by Level 2 and 3 support* Provide basic network TCP/IP support for wired and wireless networks* Voluntarily provide information and assistance to other office members for the whole office's success* Stay current on industry trends and technology, which may affect operations or client expectations* Follow policies and standard operating procedures for the technical department* Participate in goals, policies, and standard operating procedures for the service department* Maintain time logs that accurately report technical support activities (tickets)* Occasional, scheduled out of town conferences/training* Facilitate ongoing communication between clients and staff, keeping all parties informed as appropriate relating to client support and client projects* Maintain quality documentation for all applications, solutions and standards* Interface with clients respectfully and with kindness* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT industry trends and technology that may affect operations or client expectations* Regularly attend technical staff meetings, being prepared to discuss client issues, Help Desk status and scheduling concerns* Onsite Client Support and hardware installationsPreferred technical skill requirements (at least 3 years' experience): * Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, organization and communication skills* Ability to problem solve and be independent* Adaptable and hard working* Ability to learn quickly* Ability to self-manage and handle competing priorities* Projects, tasks, and responsibilities are completed timely, accurately and professionally* Has effective standardized personal work processes* High level network troubleshooting and problem diagnosis* Knowledge of VoIP Technology* Brand name--knowledge of Desktops/Laptops (Dell/HP/Lenovo) * In-depth knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (Windows 10)* Basic knowledge of Server 2012/2016/2019 * Microsoft Office Business Applications (Office--2016, including Microsoft 365) * Understanding of common vertical LoB applicationsAbilities Required: * Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, push/pull 50 lbs, and use a hand truck * Able to work in tight spaces * Some out of state travel required* Some night and weekend work may be required * Rotating on-call responsibilitiesMinimum requirements: * Carry a mobile phone and be reachable by staff * High school diploma, at least two years of post-high school education preferred* Must be able to work with a flexible weekly schedule * Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and internet research* Good verbal and written communication skills for interactions with customers* Must have reliable personal transportation available during working hours* Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug testDisclaimerThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
