The team provides systems, storage,infrastructure,Interoperability and operating systems support for Oracle andits customers from multiple data centers.**Job Description:**Responsible for creatingand implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance andreliability of computing systems. Implementation of projects, that have directimpact to the success of the business. Direct customer (InternalOracle)management, including relationship building, and the sharing of technicalexpertise. Experience in handling high profile escalations, along withcommunications to director and vice president management levels.**OperationsDepartment specific skills:*** Productionexperience with running services on:* Flavorsof Linux like OEL, Red Hat Linux* Solarison modern Sun equipment* Virtualizationtechnologies (Xen)* GeneralUNIX troubleshooting and administration* Computernetworking (TCPIP, DNS, NIS, etc)* Experiencedealing with customer relationships* Ableto work with different internal teams for project work* Generalunderstanding of relational databases* General scripting knowledgeusing k-shell, bash-shell, or Perl is preferableIn-depth knowledge, use and development with PythonExpertise in automation using solutions such as MCollective, PuppetOutstanding Linux OS and troubleshooting skills**Experience:*** **Five** years of relatedexperience in a medium to large distributed network and computingenvironment* Fully competent in own area of expertise (Unix SystemAdministration)- anticipates problems and develops contingency plans.* Uses professional concepts, company policies/procedures &creativity to solve a wide range of problems.* Strong inter-personal and communication skills* Contributes to complex aspects of a project or assignment.**Additional Must Have Requirements** :**U.S. Citizenship required. Positioninvolves interaction with systems and data in Oracle?s U.S. Government Cloudenvironments, access to which requires U.S. citizenship under governmentcontracts and applicable regulations, laws and/or executive orders.**Must be able to completeone or more U.S. government background investigations and/or appropriatesecurity clearance(s) as required by government contracts and due to applicablelaws, regulations, and executive orders.**Detailed Description and Job Requirements**Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
