Overview IDX is looking for a driven and detail-focused Data Mining
Coordinator or Project Manager to play a hands-on role in
supporting our Incident Response practice. This role will act as
the operational hub between forensic specialists, legal counsel,
and clients. The primary focus is ensuring complex data breach
matters stay on schedule by coordinating data analysis efforts and
helping clients navigate regulatory response requirements. This
role may be filled at either a Data Mining Coordinator or Data
Mining Project Manager level, depending on experience. Core
responsibilities are consistent across both levels; scope,
autonomy, and ownership will scale based on prior experience. Role
and Responsibilities Project Coordination & Client Support
Coordinate the daily execution of incident response and data mining
matters from data intake through analysis and reporting. Serve as a
primary point of contact for clients and external partners
regarding project status, timelines, and data transfer logistics.
Track project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure
regulatory notification and reporting deadlines are met. Draft and
distribute status updates, metrics, and reporting materials to
internal and external stakeholders. Quality Control & Delivery
Support Perform quality control (QC) reviews on data mining
deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with
defined scope and review criteria. Support the transition of data
from forensic extraction through review and reporting phases to
ensure matters progress smoothly through the response lifecycle.
Maintain detailed documentation to support defensibility, audit
readiness, and quality assurance standards. Technical & Workflow
Support Utilize eDiscovery and analytics platforms (e.g.,
Relativity, Nuix, Reveal) to review, validate, and report on
regulated data types such as PII and PHI. Assist in identifying
affected data sets across structured and unstructured data sources.
Troubleshoot basic workflow or platform issues and escalate complex
technical questions to forensic or engineering teams as needed.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior-Level Hires (Project
Manager) Manage multiple concurrent matters across the data mining
portfolio with increased autonomy. Own end-to-end delivery for
assigned matters, including issue resolution, prioritization, and
escalation management. Lead client kickoffs, ongoing updates, and
final report delivery in coordination with legal and forensic
stakeholders. Apply judgment to scope questions, workflow
decisions, and partner coordination based on experience with breach
response and data mining operations. Contribute to the refinement
of workflows, templates, and best practices as the practice
continues to scale. Requirements: Qualifications Education &
Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
For a Coordinator-level hire: 1–3 years of experience supporting
incident response, data mining, eDiscovery, or technical/project
coordination work. For a Project Manager-level hire: 4–6 years of
experience managing multiple concurrent matters across incident
response, data mining, or eDiscovery, with ownership of delivery.
Experience with an eDiscovery vendor, cyber-focused law firm, or
managed services provider is a plus. Technical Skills Familiarity
with eDiscovery or analytics platforms such as Relativity, Nuix,
Reveal, or similar tools. Understanding of regulated data types and
privacy considerations (e.g., PII, PHI, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA). Comfort
working with large, complex data sets across diverse file types and
data sources. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking,
reporting, and data validation (pivot tables, lookups).
Professional Attributes Strong organizational skills with the
ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced,
time-sensitive environment. Clear, concise written and verbal
communication skills, particularly in client-facing contexts.
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and
follow-through. Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable learning new
tools, workflows, and processes. Ability to remain calm and focused
during high-pressure scenarios.
