and work. What you will be doing! The primary purpose of this
position is to identify, design, analyze, develop and maintain the
agency's mainframe technology systems by analyzing requirements and
conferring with information technology customers. In this role you
- Develop programming code and software modifications using
appropriate languages and tools to provide responsive and
innovative solutions, and new functionality in enterprise-wide
and/or complex specialized systems
- Research, design, and develop prototypes using different

- Design integrated solutions, which may include applications,
databases, networks, and related systems.
- Ensures that documentation for operations is completed and
accurate. Documentation must include any needed changes to the
Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Works directly with other IT resources, specifically network
and desktop services, to insure high quality, timely and effective

- Proficient with COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and JCL.
- Five to seven years of experience with multiple input/output
file types, ASCII/EBCDIC, DBF, XML, VSAM, Fixed, delimited, and how
they interact with multiple processing tools.
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer
trust and confidence.
- In-depth experience designing and implementing information
- Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs, as
well as determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve
problems that involve remote and elusive symptoms, often spanning
multiple environments in a business area.
- Knowledge of project planning and management, including scope,
time and resource management. Required Minimum Qualifications: (a)
Six (6) years of experience in (information technology developing
within a mainframe environment (COBOL), to include developing
interfaces with non-mainframe computer systems); OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year
accredited vocational training program in information technology or
related field; AND four (4) years of experience in (information
technology developing within a mainframe environment (COBOL), to
include developing interfaces with non-mainframe computer systems);
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or related field AND two (2) years of experience in
(information technology developing within a mainframe environment
(COBOL), to include developing interfaces with non-mainframe
computer systems); OR
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or
related field may substitute for all of the above. Note: In
