There is one permanent, full-time Training and Development Specialist 2 opening located in Salem This position is represented by a union. What you will be doing: This position is the primary systems trainer for the Centralized Abuse Management (CAM) information system. You will partner with the other training team members and subject matter experts to research, plan, design, develop, implement, present and evaluate a variety of instructional curricula and education materials as part of a blended learning process. The trainer in this role will be involved in ongoing efforts to ensure the accurate use of the CAM application, as well as development of training curriculum in different technical platforms. You will work with and train a diverse group of professionals across programs and agencies who are involved in the prevention and investigation of abuse against vulnerable populations. In your role you will network and develop relationships with other learning specialists and subject matter experts to ensure an effective training development process. In this position there will be opportunity to be creative and explore options for new and/or alternative adult learning techniques and technology. This position will work with various teams and stakeholders in analyzing and assessing workforce training needs. You will be involved in supporting and enhancing the very important work of helping improve the safety of Oregon's most vulnerable. WORKING CONDITIONS: Conducts training in classroom setting, hybrid learning environment, or virtual classroom. May have overnight travel, sometimes in inclement weather. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Requires the transportation and setup of mobile training lab equipment (laptops, keyboards, mice, data cords, power strips, projector, etc.). Will need to lift and move equipment weighting up to 55 pounds using unit established safety procedures and moving equipment with use of appropriate lift devises as available. Will be seated for long periods designing and developing synchronous/asynchronous training. This is what you need to qualify: Five years of experience designing and coordinating adult education courses or organizational development strategies. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Psychology, Business or Public Administration, Training and Development, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior or related field may substitute for three years of experience. Requested Skills/Desired Attributes The Most Competitive Candidate Will Have: Knowledge and experience with adult learning theory and your implementation of this into educational programs. Experience creating projects using Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate or other computer-based applications for e-learning or blended learning courses. Experience assessing the learning needs of an organization or program. Experience with evaluation processes used to evaluate the learning goals for professional staff. Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to create a course or curriculum. Experience working with the implementation of a complex software application or information system in a changing environment.
