As an Accounts Payable & Payroll Benefits Specialist, you are responsible for the accurate and timely expenditure processing. You will utilize the principles of accounting to interpret and analyze the expenditure processing, based on the Oregon Accounting Manual (OAM), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statewide policies. About d Financial Services (SFS) d Financial Services (SFS) provides accounting services for DAS and a full suite of accounting, budgeting, and payroll services of state agency customers. SFS ensures accounting activity is performed in accordance with all applicable statues, rules, policies and generally accepted accounting principles, which allows our customers to focus on their core mission and business responsibilities. Qualifications for This Position Three years of technical support accounting experience with two of the three years of the experience including: a) coding transactions and checking them for propriety, b) balancing, and c) resolving discrepancies in computer edits; OR; An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Relevant education includes accounting (or a closely related field), and training or experience includes using a computer to enter, update, or retrieve information As the successful candidate you will also have the following desired attributes: Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills A willingness to learn new systems and procedures and collaborate Excellent customer service skills with the demonstrated ability communicating tactfully, both verbally and in writing, with individuals from diverse backgrounds Experience in OSPA and R*Stars Ability to manage and complete work independently and timely Ability to conduct analysis, identify problems, and identify areas of improvement Understanding of governmental budgeting and accounting functions Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) How to Your candidate profile, cover letter, and resume are the perfect opportunity to highlight your interest in the position and showcase the amazing skills and experience making you the best candidate for the position.
