This pivotal role involves operating heavy trucks and delivering food products safely and efficiently to our clients including restaurants, hospitals, schools, and more. As a Class A Driver at Sysco, you will be an essential part of our mission to market and distribute top-quality food items and play a key role in maintaining Sysco's reputation for outstanding service and reliability. Safely operate a tractor/trailer in the transportation of food products. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. Deliver goods on time and manage documentation of delivery receipts and customer signatures. Maintain communication with the dispatch team to ensure smooth delivery operations. Adhere to company operational procedures and federal and state regulations governing the transport of materials. Report any incidents or accidents to the management immediately. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Handle unexpected delays or changes in delivery plans calmly and efficiently. Proficiency in operating Class A commercial vehicles Strong time management and customer service skills Ability to handle physical workload Ability to utilize GPS systems and other navigation tools efficiently Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and procedures Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A clean driving record DOT medical certification
