Caring Places Management is actively recruiting an empathetic, qualified individual to join our Assisted Living & Memory Care community, Hillside Place, as a Cook/Dietary Aide. As part of our team, you work with seniors requiring assistance and their families to determine their individual needs and requirements. Why work for Caring Places Management? The Cook prepares and serves meals as specified in the menus and recipes prepared by the dietitian, using proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

Reports to: The Administrator

Understand and carry out instructions
Work with kitchen assistants and Dietary Manager
Understand and follow the recipes and serve portion-controlled diets
Must demonstrate a commitment to the safe practices, infection control and respect for residents' rights
Must understand and be able to provide specialized diets
Must have a commitment to customer/resident service
Must be able to cook food that is of good quality and pleasing to the residents
Must be organized
Ensuring that dining tables are clean and attractively set for each meal
Serving coffee/tea/drinks during meals as requested by resident
Assisting residents who require help filling out daily menus
Distributing daily menus
Helping serve the meal if resident aides require assistance in getting a meal to the residents on time
Making sure there is always fresh coffee made and that the juice machine is full
Filling all condiment holders prior to each meal
Filling special resident requests during meals
Listening to, and communicating with, each resident in a sensitive manner
Being aware of the emotional/behavioral/mental conditions/needs of each resident and responding in a gentle, reassuring way
Providing personal care as appropriate while striving to promote self-care, independence, and dignity, and preserving privacy
Working as part of a team in meeting resident needs
Other duties as assigned
Have a strong commitment to resident customer service
Must demonstrate a commitment to the safe practices, infection control, and respect for residents' rights
Perform each duty of the position in a manner that upholds the dignity, privacy, independence, safety, and security of each resident
Full Time
Varied Schedule
Wage is starting at $17.50, DOE & Certifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must have a current Food Handler's Permit
Experience and skills in institutional cooking
Lift and move boxes
