Description/Qualifications:
Salem Hospital, a not-for-profit Level II Trauma facility, will be Oregon's largest community hospital upon completed expansion with over 600 beds and is home to the busiest ER on the West Coast. -Our collaborative team is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Vascular Surgery program in a full-time capacity. - Our team currently consists of 4 surgeons and 2 advanced practice providers who offer a full vascular practice including endovascular, open procedures, a TCAR program and a fully accredited ICAVL Vascular Lab with a newly remodeled state of the art Cath Lab that opened in January 2022. Approximately 50% of our practice is through ER admissions, and the remaining is elective practice. - -Our patients receive comprehensive medical services through our robust and engaged multi-specialty medical group consisting of more than 250 providers who are focused on enhancing the patient experience and providing high levels of care coordination. Hood, and a 45-minute drive to Portland -You may be a qualified PA candidate if you:Are a graduate from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, e.g., CAHEA, CAAHEP.Have passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and are certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Hold PA licensure through the Oregon Medical Board.Hold current DEA certification.Preference may be given to PA candidates who have at least one (1) year of experience as a surgical PA. - -You may be a qualified NP candidate if you:Possess a Master's Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing. Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.Hold a current, unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Hold valid, unencumbered NP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body.Hold DEA certification.Have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.Current ACLS certification and ATLS certification within 6 months of employment start date.1-2 years inpatient experience preferred. - -Preference may be given to NP candidates who have successfully completed a first assistant training program and are certified by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI), or have evidence of a comparable certification. This is REQUIRED to be obtained within 6 months of hiring if not already held.
