Description/Qualifications:
Eligible for excellent hiring incentives, including a Start Bonus and Relocation Assistance (for hires relocating from greater than 100 miles). Your Role With Us:

As a Medical Assistant with Salem Health, you will call upon your excellent interpersonal skills, clinical knowledge, and critical thinking abilities to identify the nature and urgency of our patient's healthcare needs. You'll be responsible for performing a variety of clinical and clerical duties needed for the oncology department. -

Core Functions:

Escorts patient to a clean exam room that is free of expired items, stocked appropriately and prepped according to the appointment type.

Obtains and documents patient's vital signs and other pertinent information specific to the appointment type.

Accurately documents patient visits, telephone calls, and other encounters in Epic, ensuring other staff and physicians are able to follow the events with certainty.

Verifies patient's insurance and acquires necessary prior insurance authorizations.

Perform a variety of clerical tasks including filing, copying, and faxing, scanning documents and sorting mail.

Answer a multi-line telephone and respond promptly to phone messages. Routes incoming calls correctly and in a timely fashion.

Background/Expertise:

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program.

Experience in an outpatient and/or oncology setting preferred.

Medical Assistant Certification required.

Current BLS certification from AHA required.
