Description GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: Contribute to the financial stability of the Credit Union by assisting the Branch Manager in maintaining smooth operations in order to reach department and organizational objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Sales & Service 1. Effectively address and resolve member problems and issues.2. Further enhance member relationship by offering additional credit union products and services. Explain features and advantages of accounts or services to promote sales.3. Understand and communicate organizational objectives to branch employees in regards to Sales and Service.Operations, Security and Compliance 1. Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related policies.2. Perform and oversee day-to-day functions to include both operations and lending within the branch.3. Recommend changes to policies and procedures that will improve the operation of the credit union. Assist in implementing changes agreed upon by the credit union management team.4. Ensure branch compliance with security and branch control policies and procedures. Assist in branch audits and demonstrate knowledge of internal controls.5. Be responsible for branch participation on the credit union safety and security team.6. Maintain operational knowledge by staying informed of policies and procedures.7. Maintain confidentiality and protect credit union operations by keeping negotiable instruments, cash, keys and member and/or credit union information secure at all times.Staff 1. Address employee performance issues in absence of the Branch Manager by providing staff with clear and constructive feedback.2. Oversee staff training to include: operations, lending, security and branch controls.3. Assist Branch Manager in recruiting, interviewing and selecting employees. Provide feedback to Branch Manager on performance of branch staff. Assist Branch Manager in conducting performance appraisals.4. Assist in the development of branch employees by seeking coaching opportunities.5. Act as a role model for appropriate behavior, genuinely participate in the decision-making process of the Credit Unions future while helping staff to recognize and understand the reasoning behind leadership decisions.Professional Knowledge and Development 1. Maintain credit union workflow by cooperating cross-organizationally and providing necessary information to the appropriate people.2. Enhance job performance by applying up to date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions and reviewing professional publications.3. Participate in establishing strategies for meeting branch goals. Continuously strive to meet organizational objectives through personal and branch goals.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Function as a Teller as needed, including the following functions: provide and/or process account services and transactions to members according to credit union established procedures. Maintain and balance cash drawers, vaults, and negotiable instruments within established policy limits.2. Function as a Financial Service Officer as needed, including the following functions: provide service to members by opening, setting up or performing maintenance on accounts and electronic services. Process deposits and withdrawals on IRA accounts. Provide information on current promotions.3. Responsible for marketing or business development as assigned by the Branch Manager.4. Contribute to attaining Credit Union objectives by accomplishing related results as assigned.Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, over the phone, and via computer or other electronic means.2. Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from employees, managers, members, and the general public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen.3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret loan and credit insurance documents, including applications, credit reports, policies and regulations.4. Willingness and ability to travel within service area to conduct Business Development activities.5. Ability to explain and sell credit insurance policies.6. Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good-time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.7. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; intermediate computer skills, including the use of word processing and spreadsheet software applications and e-mail.8. Strong organizational skills.9. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.10. Ability to cross-sell Credit Union services effectively and accurately.11. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.12. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.13. Ability to work with co-workers and members professionally and tactfully.14. Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy.15. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.QUALIFICATIONS: Required: 1. Associates degree in Business, Economics, Banking or equivalent financial experience and Business-related (i.e., accounting, economics, finance, management) college-level courses or financial industry-specific training.2. Minimum 2-4 years in financial industry in the following positions with demonstrated progressive responsibilities: Teller, Financial Services, and Lending.3. Minimum of 2-4 years experience in direct and indirect selling roles, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.4. Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a lead role.5. Must maintain a current Oregon Resident Agent License for credit insurance products (Credit Union will assist employee with obtaining this license).6. Requires the availability to work Monday Saturday hours.7. Must possess a valid Oregon drivers license for Business Development activities8. Must be bondable.9. Must meet the minimum standards set by SAFE and any applicable state laws, if performing the duties of an MLO. These minimum standards include but are not limited to: (1) never having the employees loan originator license revoked in any governmental jurisdiction, and (2) not having been convicted of nor pled guilty or nolo contendere to a felony in a domestic, foreign, or military court (a) during the seven-year period preceding the date of application for licensing and registration, or (b) at any time preceding such date of application if such felony involved an act of fraud, act of dishonesty, a breach of trust, or money laundering.10. If performing the duties of a MLO, must be eligible to renew and must maintain registration with the Registry or the applicable state agency. Failure to renew or maintain registration will result in immediate termination.
