• The CFO works with the COO and CEO to establish financial and strategic goals for the company.
• Oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution.
• Study long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales.
• Responsibilities include short and long-range financial planning and policies, accounting practices and procedures, evaluating past financial performance.
• Establish and cultivate working relationships with accountants, banks, and other vendors.
• Understand key performance drivers. Perform analysis of actual results to forecast and advise the leadership team of proactive actions to ensure that the team achieves its targets and is positioned to achieve its long-term strategic goals.
• Oversee all aspects of financial planning and reporting, including the controller function, accounting, and tax to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for review of financial statements for Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. including Route Sales COP's, Southern Cal Transport, Fresh Creative Foods, and St. Clair Foods.
• Manage the organization's cash flow and oversee any investment activity. Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with spending decisions.
• Involvement in review and approval of annual marketing budget and annual capital expenditures requests.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure continued compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Develop and advise on costing strategies, including setting annual standards.
• Lead financial analysis and due diligence of mergers and acquisitions.
• Responsible for aligning departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
• Analyze existing processes, procedures, and systems to identify areas for improvement in financial operations.
• Review existing financial metrics and KPIs to track progress.
• Participate in board and shareholder meetings, reporting on financial performance.
• Lead and direct the work of others. Responsible for creating a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
• Establish and communicate clear performance objectives for the team to achieve, overseeing the operations of the team and/or department. Provide coaching for development and timely performance feedback.
• Member of the company crisis management team.
• Managerial responsibility for staff employment decisions in accordance with company policy.
• Identify training needs, supporting employee development as part of planning for department succession plans.Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance or related field is required. MBA is preferred.
• 15 years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
• Prior experience as a CFO, or divisional CFO of an organization that exceeds $500M in revenue.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Prior experience in the Food and Beverage, Manufacturing or Consumer Packaged Goods industries strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams including the ability to develop and mentor others.
• Experience in financial controls and budgetary controls.
• Proven ability to work in complexity and find creative solutions that address multiple functional needs beyond finance goals and priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
