Caring Places Management is actively recruiting for a Dietary
Manager to join our team at Hillside Place Assisted Living & Memory
Care located in Lincoln City on the beautiful Oregon coast. The
Dietary Manager will report directly to the Administrator and fills
a crucial role within the community by overseeing and organizing
the preparation and service of meals per menu specifications to
meet the dietary needs of our residents. The Dietary Manager also
provides oversight to all other kitchen staff and is responsible
for organizing the kitchen, ordering food and supplies, as well as
using proper food handling, sanitation and infection control
procedures.

Job Duties:
Provide leadership to the kitchen staff including, though not
limited to, the following: Scheduling
Training
Hiring
Performance Management
Oversee meal preparation Cooking
Presentation
Cleanliness
Quality
Pre-meal preparation Plan menus
Consult with residents at Resident Council Meetings
Ordering
Reviewing residents' dietary needs
Manage all kitchen expenses (food, equipment, staff) within
budget
Communicate and meet with vendors
Assist with marketing and social events
Responsible for meeting company standards for kitchen/dining room
cleanliness and organization: Dishes
Floors
Appliances
Counters/Tables
Sinks
Monitor food/equipment temperatures
Decorate dining room tables
Order supplies as necessary and with approval: Dishes
Utensils
Equipment
Assist and support Administrator as needed
Help staff coordinate consistent, quality care and service in the
community; and
Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary to maintain community
operations.
Requirements:
Experience and skills in institutional cooking;
Leadership experience
Computer literate;
Must be able to do the following: Understand and carry out
instructions;
Work with, and supervise kitchen assistants;
Understand and follow the recipes and serve portion controlled
diets;
Order all foods and supplies;
Lift and move boxes weighing at least 25 pounds;
Demonstrate a commitment to the safe practices, infection control
and respect for residents' rights;
Must understand and be able to provide specialized diets;
Must be able to adhere to and manage a budget;
Must have a commitment to customer/resident service;
Must be able to cook food that is of good quality and pleasing to
the residents;
Must be organized and be able to keep the kitchen and kitchen staff
organized;
Must have a current Food Handler's Permit;
