Program (EAP)and more!Job DetailsPurpose of Role:Primary objective
is to provide the Site Technical Engineering function as part of
each Factory management team for purposes of:A key member of the
Plant Manager's staff and be a "consultative" voice to the Plant
Mgr. in the planning and execution of reliable processes and
operations. Manage current and new assets and operational
maintenance of the facility.Be the senior site technical /
maintenance and engineering voice, functional expert to ensure
continuous and efficient operations of the factory.Implement and
maintain technical standards, factory maintenance metrics, asset
management, factory support and indirect costs and efficiency
performance.Establish Supply Chain operational and technical
"signature process" areas of capacity planning, activity management
and CAB management.Manage site technical resources to ensure
efficient use of support resources.Provide people leadership to
engineers, maintenance team and technicians across the factory.
Provide expertise in facilities, sanitation, project management and
safety/security as a functional expert for processes and
systems.Partner with the Central Engineering, IE's and
Technical/R&D teams to implement and launch new assets and
support the new product introduction process, including business
activity inputs, signature process improvements and capital
investment planning.Lead role in developing and maintaining site
technical archives of site layouts and technical drawings, asset
specs & warranties. Specifically, the position will:Identify, cost
out and evaluate supply project options to maximize financial
opportunities, and recommend best overall business solutions that
will drive operational effectiveness (total supply chain costs, not
only factory costs) for continuous improvement encompassing
technical areas of the P&L.Manage local CAB budgets & execute
smaller CAB projects up to $500K. Work with Central Engineers to
plan & implement larger CAB investments for assets and facilities.
Establish CAB priorities in conjunction with Site IE.Identify cost
savings opportunities and projects to improve productivity and
efficiency and implement automation to reduce labour content and
waste.Drive site reliability, uptime and waste performance
including maintenance expenses, supplies, MRO and OH's.Drive timely
implementation of identified opportunities, project-manage various
projects & initiatives. Conduct after action and learning reviews
for projects.Identify best practices for technical processes to
maximize performance and embed in value streams by working with the
Site IE and VSM's.Coordinate annual site CAB planning and maintain
project files in line with site needs. Input to CAB project
write-ups, conduct technical options and risk assessments. Ensure
projects are delivered on time, cashflows managed and in budget
against criteria such as IRR, NPV & FATR in project submission.Work
with IE Director, VSM's and Plant Mgr. to develop operational
financial targets and standards for the factory (maintenance,
utilities and supplier costs)Develop Site Maintenance programs
including electrical, mechanical and software/factory info systems.
Ensure a proactive TPM maintenance system is implemented and
maintained. Manage and maintain a Critical Event database to
improve reliability of site and operations using KPI's and
information systems.Input into mfg. schedules for project downtimes
and equipment PM's.A. Principal AccountabilitiesWhat are the key
accountabilities of the role? (Consider -- why does the position

value creation through maintenance and engineering processes,
typically in the 0-2 year horizon.Establish engineering and
maintenance standards, including safety.Supply plan development
associated CAB investments, support cost reduction plans/targets
and site risk management.Maintain CAB and vendor files for the
assets and factory. Work with local authorities for zoning,
permitting and other legal areas.Primary interface is with Site
Staff, Central IE's & Engineering; R&D//Technical team, HR, IT
and Finance. Business Growth/Profit StrategyAssist in analysis of
new ideas for feasibility and financial viability.Lead site CI
maintenance initiatives across the P&L to deliver site
profitability.Evaluate and recommend priority efficiency projects.
Analyse and recommend. actions to improve item profitability and
simplification. Supply Strategies (0-2 Year Horizon)Work with the
Site IE Mgr. to provide inputs of costs and lead-times into plans
for future customer contracts.Internal/external performance
benchmarks and best practices, changeover reduction.Evaluate future
capacity needs/asset capacity and propose amount and timing of
capacity additions as well as Asset Health for the existing asset
base as part of CAB plan development.In partnership with Finance,
IE and Central Engineering, develop processes to support Capital
Project Governance to ensure timely approval and executions.
Operational Supply ExecutionThe Sr. Site Technical Manager will
manage site technical resources.Maintain tight relationships and
timely communication with Engineering community and across the
plants for consistency and sharing best practices.Work with the
Plant Mgr., IE's and Finance to ensure the maintenance financial
plan is managed.Manage 3rd party vendors and contractors.Mission
