  • Employee appreciation eventsGeneral SummaryThe Manager of Donor Relations & Events works closely with the COO of Communications, Resource Development and Public Affairs to develop, implement, and evaluate donor relations and events to advance the mission and improve the financial sustainability of Catholic Community Services and the CCS Foundation. The donor relations management role includes qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. Event management with a special focus on cultivation of major and sustaining gifts and regular, pre-event 1:1 donor engagement are priorities. The Donor Relations Manager is a key team member contributing to all sustainable funding, communications and capital projects as needed.Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Marketing, or related field and six years related work experience in communications, public relations and fund development and demonstrated competence in project management, or
    • Master's Degree in related field with 4 or more years of experience.
    • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and knowledge of relational database logic.
    • Reliable transportation, valid Oregon driver's license (or the ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire) and a driving record that permits coverage under the agency's corporate auto liability policy and personal automobile liability insurance coverage.Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

      • Ability to be accurateEssential Position Functions and Key Work Processes
        • Manages a portfolio of donor relationships cultivating gifts from $5,000 -$25,000.
        • Oversees a series of annual events, including the annual luncheon, in close coordination with COO, RE Database Administrator and Communications Project Manager.
        • Develops donor relations components of the annual operations plan and works closely with the COO of Communications, Resource Development and Public Affairs to implement the plan and complete annual Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects.
        • Plans, implements and reports on results of events and engagement activities for recurring donors, pledge holders, corporate sponsors and major donors, with an emphasis on the CCS General Fund, Father Taaffe Homes, Saint Joseph Shelter and Mission Benedict.
        • Contributes to content development for newsletters and appeals (electronic and print).
        • Contributes to message and list development for all donor mailings including acknowledgements, holiday appeals, pledge reminders, annual report and end-of-year mailing.
        • Develops Gantt chart for each department-sponsored event including the Annual Luncheon and St. Joseph the Worker Annual Fundraising Dinner and coordinates video story development, messaging, stage management, logistics, volunteers (with volunteer coordinator) and staff to ensure success. Coordinates with Volunteer Team to request and schedule volunteer needs including developing job descriptions and requirements.
        • Secures new table hosts and sustains relationships with existing table hosts and increases corporate giving through effective interaction with corporate sponsors
        • Conducts weekly 1:1 donor meetings, open houses and/or phone calls to get to know our donors, strengthen relationships and advance funding goals. Tracks and achieves increase in ongoing "Know thy Donor" contacts with Bishop's Circle, 60+ Annual Luncheon Table Captains, major donors, young professionals, sustainers and other key funders.
        • Works to increase Knights of Columbus donations to Father Taaffe Homes and other faith-based ministries such as Saint Joseph Shelter and Mission Benedict.
        • Administration:
          • Completes daily and weekly database updates to reflect donor interaction.
          • Serves as the backup administrator of donor database including being fully trained on weekly acknowledgement process from data entry to review and committal, letter template modifications and mail merge.
          • Serves as expert reviewer for weekly donor acknowledgements.
          • Works with database administrator to enhance data capture for more effective "know thy donor" interaction by including notes on interactions, relationships and images from CCS events.
          • Other duties as assigned by Chief Communications, Fund Development and Public Affairs Officer.EducationRequired
