Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Responsible for the organization and
transmission of patient information by telephone, verbal and
written communications. Answers phone, greets visitors, orders
supplies, stocks and coordinates the needs of the unit/department.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Operating Room of Surgery provides
intraoperative care to surgical and procedural sedation patients.
We provide service for the patient population of pediatrics,
adolescents, adult and elderly patients. We work with a variety of
provider specialties in caring for people going home that day or
are being admitted to the hospital.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or
equivalent required. Experience and/or training with computer
applications required. Experience and/or training in medical
terminology preferred. Related experience and/or training in a
medical facility preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Time
Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to
complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending
issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive
in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to
explain complex issues, exchange information between team members,
and tactfully discuss issues. Customer Service: Knowledge of
principles and processes for providing customer service. This
includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for
services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
