Job Description:

Come join our Head Start team! The Head Start Administrative Assistant provides support to the Program Director and the Management Team in a variety of areas including coordination of the program self-assessment, annual public report and community assessment; assisting with the creation of grants and grant budgets, taking minutes at Leadership Team and Management Team meetings, and coordinating the program planning calendar.
Candidates must submit an application by 11/05 to be considered for first-round interviews.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associates degree in Business or related field; and 2 years of experience in administrative support; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on the job and satisfactory drive record for the past three years.
Registration with the Office of Child Care's Central Background Registry**.
This position is subject to MWVCAA's Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for client-facing positions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must possess organization, planning, and management skills.
Effective interpersonal communication skills, in both written and oral form.
Demonstrates empathy and understanding when communicating with clients, staff and program directors.
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking abilities may be required depending on program needs. *Bilingual pay differential available upon successful completion of bilingual assessment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Able to work evenings on occasion.
Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
Occasional driving to sites within Marion/Polk County.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
Collaborate with coworkers/clients over the phone and in-person.
Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces.
Occasional remote work. In office use of PPE and following safety and sanitizing protocols required.
