Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is excited to fill our Diversity,
Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Engagement Specialist position. In this
important role, you will participate in overall agency strategic
planning, goal setting, policy direction, and program management of
the organization related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This
position helps create the vision to guide the organization through
initiatives that drive change through the agency's diversity and
cross-cultural relations programs. The Employee Engagement
Specialist is dedicated to driving stronger engagement and opening
lines of communication with current and potential employees through
managing town hall meetings, supporting departmental employee
engagement activities, and supporting the agency wide employee
resource groups. The DEI Engagement Specialist is a project and
change management specialist responsible for helping promote a
positive organizational culture and change. As the DEI engagement
specialist, you will be primarily responsible for the development
and execution of internal employee engagement activities and
department community engagement to strengthen services to our
youth. You will collaborate with all department leadership and will
work with the Communications, Human Resources, employees,
stakeholders, and community partners to drive awareness and
engagement that promote the key DEI initiatives of the
organization. This position supports agency leaders in creating
environments and programs that are emotionally, psychologically,
and physically safe for all youth and employees especially those
from historically marginalized communities.

* Telework: This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule.
This position is based at our Central Office in Salem, Oregon and
will be required to come in to the office on an as needed basis.
Telework is evaluated periodically to ensure business needs are

How To Qualify:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration,
Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any
degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and
four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning
work.
OR;
* Any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven
years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and
skills for the classification.
Special Qualifications:
* Driver License Required: Driving is an essential function of this
position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record
are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment
driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

* Demonstrated history overcoming resistance in different settings
and work cultures, influencing stakeholders, and leading without
formal authority.
* Experience building deep cross-functional relationships and
influencing across all levels from individual contributors to
executives.
* Self-driven and highly motivated, including project management
experience and the ability to identify and implement best practices
of diversity and inclusion.
* Excellent skills in analyzing data and reporting trends.
