Department of Revenue (DOR) Position: Public Service Representative 3 (PSR3) Location: 955 Center St NE, Salem, OR 97301 Salary Range: $2561 - $3569 Department of Revenue is recruiting for multiple Public Representative Service 3 (PSR3) positions. We are looking for individuals who are detail oriented and have exceptional customer service skills to join our Personal Tax and Compliance Division in the Tax Services Unit. There are two (2) full-time, permanent positions There are three (3) full-time, limited duration positions expected to last through July 2021; however, they could end at any time for any reason During the application process you will be asked to select whether you are interested in the permanent, limited duration, or both positions. Independently assists the public over the phone, in person, and in writing with various tax programs administered by the Department. Answers questions from taxpayers, licensed tax preparers, attorneys, accountants, and other professionals in regards to rules, laws, policies & procedures for department administered tax programs in order to secure compliance or resolve problems; seeking assistance only on non-routine cases. Explains notices including: department billings, deficiencies, and assessments in a clear and concise manner. Researches tax records and interprets data relating to the individual taxpayers unique circumstances. Makes corrections if necessary or explains further action to be taken by the taxpayer. Makes mathematical calculations to assist taxpayers and to explain actions taken on their accounts. Sitting up to eight hours daily. Frequent use of a personal computer and keyboarding requiring repetitious hand movement. Works in close proximity with others, with frequent interruptions and distractions. This Is What You Need To Qualify Two years of experience in customer service. One year of which must have included explanation of rules, regulations, and policies. The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes: Experience working in a call center Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully while providing customer service over the phone, in person, and in writing. Effective team participation by showing a willingness to assist and support others, and treating people with courtesy and respect. Detail oriented Demonstrated ability exercising excellent judgment and decision making skills, and to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
